Silver Ashes Hospitality was born through fire. Founded and operated by Chef Nate Saar after the return to his hometown, Pittsburgh, Silver Ashes started as a quiet vision to rekindle human connection through food, fire, and the most intentional hospitality. After working under Thomas Keller and in some of the countries most demanding kitchens, Nate was drawn back by a sense of purpose and opportunity to build an enduring, seasonal experience rooted in human connection and warmth.
We draw our name from the fleeting beauty left behind from the wood fire: the silver toned ash that is left lingering after the flame. It is a reminder to us that every great experience leaves an imprint on our souls and that hospitality is much more than the transaction, and all about the memory.
We believe that great food should tell a story- one of locality, the seasons, craft, and care. From our curated catering to our anticipated opening of The Black Stag, our wood-fire restaurant concept, we are excited to deliver our intentional dining experience to the Greater Pittsburgh area.
